The lynxfb_ops_check_var function has two switch statements, the first one checks for validity of var->bits_per_pixel and it is is immediatly followed by another one that sets parameters according to var->bits_per_pixel value. wstats->qual.noise is of type uint8, so it shouldn't be assigned a negative number. Assigning it 0x100 - 100, which is the equivalent to -100 dBm when IW_QUAL_DBM is set.
