- use os.kill if subprocess.Popen does not implement kill
- do not run subprocess in shell
- read output char by char to avoid missing anything if killed
- if killed, set retcode to TIMEOUT
- if a test failed exit with code 1

test__socket: remove test_recv_timeout and test_sendall_timeout because inherited versions are good enough

- they are useful in some tests and there's no good place to put them other than here

- it no longer returns the descriptor
- the old name is still available as a deprecated alias

- use the same technique on sendto
- add 'flags' argument to sendall as well

- the same applies to recvfrom, recvfrom_into, recv_into

 - wait for read/write instead of write
 - before calling connect, check SO_ERROR
