Add NULL check for avoiding NULL pointer deref. This bug has been introduced by: 1ff511e3: tracing/kprobes: Add bitfield type which causes a null pointer dereference bug when kprobe-tracer parses an argument without type. Jeff Moyer reported these messages: Warning: ... trying to fall back to cpu-clock-ticks couldn't open /proc/-1/status couldn't open /proc/-1/maps [ls output] [ perf record: Woken up 1 times to write data ] [ perf record: Captured and wrote 0.008 MB perf.data (~363 samples) ] That lead me and David Ahern to see that something was fishy on the thread synthesizing routines, at least for the case where the workload is started from 'perf record', as -1 is the default for target_tid in 'perf record --tid' parameter, so somehow we were trying to synthesize the PERF_RECORD_MMAP and PERF_RECORD_COMM events for the thread -1, a bug. So I investigated this and noticed that when we introduced support for recording a process and its threads using --pid some bugs were introduced and that the way to fix it was to instead of passing the target_tid to the event synthesizing routines we should better pass the thread_map that has the list of threads for a --pid or just the single thread for a --tid. The live annotation done in 'perf top' needs to limit the context before lines that aren't filtered out by the min percent filter, if we don't do that, the screen in a tty often is not enough for showing what is interesting: lines with hits and a few source code lines before it. Since we'll need it when implementing the live annotate TUI browser. This also simplifies things a bit by having the list head for the source code to be in the dynamicly allocated part of struct annotation, that way we don't have to pass it around, it can be found from the struct symbol that is passed everywhere. In prepare_kernel_cred() since 2.6.29, put_cred(new) is called without assigning new->usage when security_prepare_creds() returned an error. As a result, memory for new and refcount for new->{user,group_info,tgcred} are leaked because put_cred(new) won't call __put_cred() unless old->usage == 1. Fix these leaks by assigning new->usage (and new->subscribers which was added in 2.6.32) before calling security_prepare_creds(). In cred_alloc_blank() since 2.6.32, abort_creds(new) is called with new->security == NULL and new->magic == 0 when security_cred_alloc_blank() returns an error. As a result, BUG() will be triggered if SELinux is enabled or CONFIG_DEBUG_CREDENTIALS=y. If CONFIG_DEBUG_CREDENTIALS=y, BUG() is called from __invalid_creds() because cred->magic == 0. Failing that, BUG() is called from selinux_cred_free() because selinux_cred_free() is not expecting cred->security == NULL. This does not affect smack_cred_free(), tomoyo_cred_free() or apparmor_cred_free(). Fix these bugs by (1) Set new->magic before calling security_cred_alloc_blank(). (2) Handle null cred->security in creds_are_invalid() and selinux_cred_free(). The AACI TRM requires the MAINCR enable bit to be held zero for two bitclk cycles plus three apb_pclk cycles. Use a delay of 1us to ensure this. Add bitfield type for tracing arguments on kprobe-tracer. The syntax of a bitfield type is: b<bit-size>@<bit-offset>/<container-size> e.g. Accessing 2 bits-width field with 4 bits-offset in 32 bits-width data at 4 bytes offseted from the address pointed by AX register: +4(%ax):b2@4/32 Since the width of container data depends on the arch, so I just added the container-size at the end.
