NXD patch queue for gitlab-ce 8.8
Rebase/squash our NXD patches for gitlab 8.8 and cherry-pick a necessary commit so that we don't need to have Redis up during Slapos instantiation of Gitlab software release. Otherwise, gitlab-rake assets:precompile would fail (see full discussion).
